Erewhon caves to pressure, drops seed oils

Our brigading effort of Erewhon’s instagram page 2 months prior seems to have paid off, they recently eliminated seed oils from their chips and hot bar.

We’ll mark it as a win, but avocado oil isn’t our top choice. Recent conversations with people who actually test cooking oils for a living have confirmed the UC-Davis study indicating that around 70% of avocado oil is adulterated, so it’s really not our top choice, however they do at least adulterate it with a low-PUFA high oleic seed oil most of the time.

No one on Earth sells GMO avocados, so this “non-GMO” labeling is more evidence of slapping as many buzzwords as possible on a label to justify insane prices.
