1: Oven-ready biscuits, Pillsbury

Threat level: HIGH nearly all store bought versions contain seed oils

Don’t trust the dough boy, he got that belly somehow. Almost all Pillsbury products contain soybean oil.

2: Store bought pies and deserts

Threat level: HIGH nearly all store bought versions contain seed oils

Demand desserts from a quality local bakery or made from scratch. Anything from a supermarket is going to have a laundry list of preservatives and seed oils.

If pie is homemade but crust is store bought, verify the crust.

Yep even Kirland, end of second row, “Vegetable oil”

3: Store bought gravy

Threat level: HIGH nearly all store bought versions contain seed oils

Gravy should be made from the turkey drippings, maybe some butter and nothing else. Anything from a jar or can is full of seed oils.

4: Stuffing

Threat level: Moderate to High. Many recipes call for vegetable oil or margarine.

Substitutes: Use butter or ghee instead of vegetable oils or margarine. Be cautious about pre-packaged stuffing mixes, which may contain vegetable oils; consider making stuffing from scratch.

5: Mashed Potatoes

Threat level: Low to moderate. Some recipes call for margarine.

While butter is traditionally used, some recipes or pre-made versions might contain vegetable oils or margarines. Sweep the fridge for margarine on Wednesday night.

6: Turkey

Threat level: Low Turkey is typically roasted, and while some recipes might call for brushing the turkey with oil, it's not a necessity.

Obviously HIGH risk if your family does a deep fried bird, even in peanut oil.

Use butter, ghee, or olive oil for basting. For deep-fried turkey, use animal fats.

7: Cranberry sauce

Threat level: Very low

Nearly all cranberry sauce will poison you with high fructose corn syrup, but not seed oils. Enjoy, I guess…

Please argue with all of your relatives about their cooking, make them listen to Joe Rogan and tell them to download Seed Oil Scout.
